Software Notes:
This SDK requires that DLS v7.2 (or later) software be installed on the
machine using the SDK functions. A copy of DLS is provided with all
LabelWriter printers. Additionally, it can be downloaded from our web
site at www.dymo.com.
This Mac OS SDK provides many examples of how to automate label printing
using AppleScript. The samples are easy to follow and illustrate the
most common requests from our customers.
Description of Samples Provided
Common Tasks.scpt
This example demonstrates the most frequently used task using the SDK,
printing custom text on a specific label. The example shows how to load
the Label Editor plug-in, open a specific label file, modify the
contents of the label file, save the file, and print it.
Label - Address Book.workflow
(Requires Mac OS X Version 10.4.x)
This example demonstrates how to print specific labels from the Mac
Address Book. It shows how to filter records in the Mac Address Book,
pass selected records to DLS, and print them.
Label - Address Book.scpt
This example is similar to the previous example, but does not use any
Mac OS 10.4.x specific functions.
Label - Address.scpt
This example demonstrates how to load the Label Editor plug-in and
create an address label by adding a new Address Object and setting its
attributes.
Label - Barcode.scpt
This example demonstrates how to load the Label Editor plug-in and
create a new barcode label by adding a new barcode object and setting
its attributes and data.
Label - Circular Text.scpt
This example demonstrates how to load the Label Editor plug-in and
create a new label using the circular text object, and setting its
attributes and data.
Label - Counter.scpt
This example demonstrates how to create a new label using Counter
objects.
Label - Datetime.scpt
This example demonstrates how to create a new label using Date-Time
objects.
Label - Drawing.scpt
This example demonstrates how to create a new label using the shape
objects (lines, ellipses, and rectangles).
Label - Graphic.scpt
This example demonstrates how to place and add a graphic to a label.
Label - Text.scpt
This example demonstrates how to add a text object to a label.
The examples that follow require a DYMO LabelWriter Duo or other DYMO
printer capable of printing on D1 tapes.
Tape - Barcode.scpt
This example demonstrates how to print a barcode using the Tape Editor
plug-in.
Tape - Graphic.scpt
This example demonstrates how to print a graphic using the Tape Editor
plug-in.
Tape - Tape Parameters.scpt
This example demonstrates how to add text to a tape label and adjust
different tape parameters.
Tape - Text Formatting.scpt
This example demonstrates how to use the Tape Editor plug-in to paste
text to a tape label and format text on the label.
